Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is something most of us strive to achieve everyday. It is something that we always have to be working towards if we want to live a long and healthy life. When one is considering to change their lifestyle for the better, most of us assume we have to make a radical change. Here are 4 things you can do TODAY to start living a healthier lifestyle.

1. Get Moving:
It's no secret that being more active is beneficial for your health. When deciding to be more active, you have to think about your daily routine and find ways that work best with that. Most people say they cannot workout because they do not have the time. Well, then that mans it is time to get creative. Maybe walking on your lunch break is what will do the trick for you if you find it difficult to get to the gym,
Going to the Gym is an excellent option, but sometimes it is not realistic. Maybe taking the dog for a nice long walk, or maybe taking the stairs everywhere you go (unless you work on the 47th floor of course). Even just playing around with the kids in the yard or mowing the lawn can help get you moving. It is not always about how much you can lift in the gym, but how constant you can work out. If you can do something like this everyday as oppose to trying to schedule 2 days out of a busy week to hit the gym, you could be just as well off.
2. Cut Back On Fatty Foods:

Another thing to keep in mind is your dietary habits. Again, we have all heard before that you have to eat clean to be lean! One way to do that is to cut back on the fats. Digesting too much fat can lead to health issues. Eating too much fat, saturated specifically, can lead to things like higher risks of heart disease and raised cholesterol levels.
Cut back on the fried foods in your diet and even meets that are fatty like salami, bacon, sausage and even ham. Try avoiding dairy items and eat lower fat foods instead. There are lots of alternatives you can try. Eggs, salmon, and avocados are good examples of what healthy fats look like. All three of these are high in fat, yet extremely nutritious.
3. Manage Your Stress:

We are all faced with day-to-days stressors. I life was perfect, we would already be fit. One thing that is often not considered when talking about a healthier lifestyle is ones stress levels. To be sane in the head is to be thin in the waist. Stress can have so many negative physical affects that is is just as important to our overall health as working out and eating. High stress levels can lead to stress eating or the contrary loss of appetite. Both of these result in bad dietary habits.
Just like you find ways to work out and eat better, you have to find ways to manage stress. Self-care is the best care! Always try to enjoy your time by listening to music, reading, listening to an awesome podcast, or maybe just taking a nap. Meditation and yoga are also great ways to try and manage stress.
4. Drink enough Water:
If you want to have a healthy and better life, then water is an essential part of your diet. It seems simple. Yet, so many of us cannot achieve this. You need to be drinking at least 8 to 10 glasses 0f water daily and even more when you are exercising. Why is it so hard for us to drink enough water? Maybe it does not taste as good as the sugaring, caffeinated, or carbonated drinks, but we cannot be healthy without it.
